6. Using TravStar in AI Assistants (ChatGPT, Claude and others)
When you use TravStar through an AI assistant, the assistant sends us your search, such as a destination, date or number of people, so we can return matching tours, articles and saved availability. We do not receive your name, email, account or booking details through these tools, and we cannot make or change bookings through them.
We keep only anonymous daily usage counts (which tool was used and which assistant sent the request). We do not store your searches or IP address with these counts. IP addresses are used briefly to apply rate limits.
If you follow a link from the assistant to travstar.com, the link tells us which assistant referred you, and our normal website analytics apply.
Your use of the AI assistant itself is covered by that provider's privacy policy. Bookings and payments happen on travstar.com and are covered by the rest of this policy.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes secure payment processing, encrypted connections, and restricted access to personal data.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it. Booking, payment and related records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and legal obligations. Customer account sign-in records are kept for up to 24 months for security. Information used for AI assistant rate limits is held for no more than 24 hours, and AI usage counts are anonymous. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
9. Your Choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, subject to records we must keep by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings. To make a request, email [email protected].
10. Changes to This Policy
